जब यह मिट्टी के कप या कॉच के गिल्हास में उतरता हैं तब मेले से इस दुनियाँ में अकेलेपन का साहारा बन जाता हैं। कप्-प्लेट पर उतरे तो मेहमाननवाज़ी का कर्ज अतार देता हैं। दिन भर के थके जब घर लौटते यह एक बिस्कुट सन मिल पूरे परिवार को १०मिनट के लिए जोर देता हैं। कितने अजनबीयों को बार बार मिलाकर यह नूक्कड़ या चौराहे पर दोस्त बना देता हैं। जब बेरोज़गारी पर जश्न हो तो फ़ाईब स्टार हॉटेल का खाना यह पाँच रुपए के समोसे सन बन जाता हैं।

Tea is always pure in the tea garden or in the manufacturing unit. No colour or any outside substance is mixed with tea in the factory.
We strictly recommend DO NOT mix any colour with tea.
FSSAI, a Govt body for food safety has put guide lines for mixing permissible chemicals on specific foods like sweets, fruit juice, soft drinks, ice creame etc.
FSSAI 2011 regulation 2.10.1 (1) on Tea clearly states that “The product shall be free from extraneous matter, added colouring matter and harmful substances”
That means tea colouring is illegal.
Some businessmen mix Bismark Brown, Potassium Blue, Turmeric, Indigo, Plumbago etc to make preferred tea color or to look like blooming tea.
Low quality tea or used tea are mixed with colour to look it fresh and enhance its price. Generally Black Lead or Plumbago, काला सीसा in hindi, lead used in pencil is mixed with used or very low quality tea to make it attractive. But this extra colour does not enhance its quality.
Mixing pencil lead or other colouring substance is actually easy. They just buy it in dry form and mix it with at the ratio of 95 tea:5 Coloring substance.
Lower the quality of tea then higher the quantity of colouring ingredients. Moreover, drinking lead can not be good for health.
Avobe all, cheating and deception even on cheapest drinks, is highly inappropriate and illegal.
Prussian blue, turmeric or indigo are also used to colour tea. Out of these, prussian blue is decidedly toxic.
To find out if the tea has been dyed or not, just take little tea in your hand and rub it vigorously between your fingures.
If it leaves a stain on your fingures, be sure that it was coloured and be extremely sure to leave the tea with shop keeper. Further report this adulteration to the food safety department.
Similarly, if you put adulterated tea in a normal cup of cold water, you will find the water has become tea coloured within seconds. On the other hand pure tea needs brewing to disperse colour, or longer time, like 5 to 15 minutes to throw out its natural colour. Always remember, colouring of tea is illegal and may bring penal action.

How to find out quality of tea ......
If you are a tea businessman or want to be a tea businessman, you must have knowledge to understand quality of tea.
So that when you buy tea, you can distinctly identify Good Tea, Better Tea, Average Tea and particularly low quality Tea.
To find out quality of tea, best option is to make a cup of tea, taste and test it, as is done by professional tea taster.
But when you go to a wholesale market to buy tea, good chance is that you will not find tea testing facilities in their shops.
So here you can go for the alternative way of tea testing. These techniques are very effective. All retail tea buyers use all or some of these technique to choose their tea from retailer.
1. Smell-----
Good tea contains a distinct tea aroma, which is sweet and heavenly. The aroma itself should force you to appreciate it. Good quality tea aroma is unparalleled. You will not get similar aroma in any other thing of this planet. If you smell two different type of flowers, you will find some broad similarity in these flowers. But not in case of tea. Its always unique.
Which differs from under withered or tea green leaf. If you find the aroma of tea, smells like vegetables or non tea items, be assured that its not of desired quality. Then either it is underwithered or mixed with something--- intentionally or unintentionally.
Look of the tea should be blackish or brownish black but not dark black. Overly Dark black is done artificially hence its of low quality.
Brown colour means its secondary tea or over grown leaf were used to make the tea.
So again it is of low quality. But remember, secondary tea is lower in quality than primary tea but that does not mean its truly of low quality. Where as tea made of overgrown leaf will contain fibre protruding from the granules. Because cutting machine could not cut or twist it properly.
Good quality tea will show a glaze or glow or bloom on granules. Alternatively, it will look dull and old.
Tea granules should look like totally rounded without any protruding fibre. If it looks like flat or looks like flakes, its not at all good quality. This would look rounded when green leaf were of acceptable size, withered or dried correctly and the cutting machine is sharp enough to cut, twist and curl it properly.
This is another effective instant test for testing tea quality. Just take some tea in your one hand and then take some other similar grade of tea of similar quantity in the other hand.
Now compare the weight.
If despite almost of same quantity and size, one hand of tea seems more dense, then its better quality then the other tea.

Tea tasting is a very important part for starting and running a tea business-- successfully. Apparently, its not an easy task. A tea taster can differentiate over 600 different tastes of tea. Full fledged academic courses are there to learn tea tasting. It varies from 45 days to 1 full year. It will definitely be an advantage, if you are a qualified tea taster. You will be able to understand tea quality and its reasonable price immediately. But most probably, tea tasting course is not available in your city, or you may not have time to pursue the course. Do not break down, every person is a tea taster. It is always better to do a course, but if you can not, just follow these guidelines to taste tea. If yo want to follow tea tasting technique use by qualified tea taster, please arrange these small equipments--10 Tea testers' mugs of 100 ML size with lead, 10 Tea Bowls, 10 small tea box, 1 Tea Spoon, 2000 watt Electric kettle, 1 or 2 litre size, A sand watch or electronic stop watch, a electronic scale 20 gram capacity. First of all Put water in electric heater and boil the water. measure each type of tea separately 2 gram each from the tea box with the electronic scale. Put the measured tea in each cup, keep tea box aligned parallel to the cup, so that you can recognise it. After putting 2 grams tea in tester' cup, fill hot boiled water in the cup up to the brink, put the lead on and wait for 5 minutes using electronic watch for tea steeping. Now pour the content of cups to tea bowls and align it to the cups and tea box. But Do not pour the tea leaves on the bowls. Put the leaves on lid of the cup, so that you can check it visually. Now its time for actual tasting. Take the first bowl in your hand, sip a good mouthful of tea, start rolling it on your tongue. As if you are eating the tea. Let your taste bud feel the taste. If you are not sure in the first sip, threw it out in a bucket and take another sip. Repeat the process till its clear to you. But before checking the second cup, check tea leaves on the lid, check its color, fragrance. The more coppery the color is, better the quality. If the green color is visible on the edge of the cup, then the green leaves are not withered properly and its of low quality. After keeping the cup at least for half an hour, check, the cup for colour of tea, does it have a layer of milk like colour? If there is a milky layer or milk like colour then it is of very good quality. But if it is blackish colour then quality is low. When you finished checking all these criteria, then start checking the second cup following same rules. After checking the second cup, if you find it better then first cup then put the cup slightly above the first cup. But if you find it lower quality then first cup put it below the first cup. Again if you find that first and second cups are of same quality then put both the cup in same line. Do this with all the cups. That will help you to remember quality of each cup even after hours. In the beginning, you may not able able to remember all the positive or negative points of testing a tea cup. So better to write it down in a piece of paper------ 1. What is the colour of tea and infused leaf ? 2. Is it bright or dull colour ? 3. Is there any greenish taint at side part of cup ? 4. How does the tea taste ? 5. How does it smell ? 6. Does to smell of any non tea item, even a faint smell ? When you are testing tea, some important things you must remember ---- A. Price of tea must not influence your judgement. B. You are not a professional Tea Taster, You are tasting tea for selecting tea for your business. So find out the taste, which are prefered by your buyers. You may or may not require very high quality tea. You may improvise the equipments with your home cups, water heater, wrist watch etc but 2 gram tea and 5 minutes steeping time must be maintained. You may also mix milk to find out the look of final product.

In a simple language blending means mixing a few items together. You can make one or more blends of tea for selling your own packet tea. Have you noticed, almost all packeted tea are mixture or blends of 4/5 types of tea. Blending of tea is done primarily for changing the basic taste of tea. Secondly, to enhance its taste and flavour. Thirdly, to maintain similar quality of tea or to maintain similar taste of tea. Fourthly, to cut down the cost of tea and make it more affordable to mass buyers. If you are an student of tea technology, you have already learnt that after production, tea is graded according its sizes. Every size of tea has got different taste and flavours. Where as Dust will be more strong than have flavour. Do you remember, you had taken dip tea in last train journey. If you open those small tea bags, you will find 2 gram, either PD or Dust or a mix of these two grades in the tea bag. All buyers prefer strong tea with good flavour. But degree of strongness vary from buyer to buyer. Some might prefer too strong tea and some might prefer moderately strong tea. So to make a tea average strong you are required to modify its strength by either blending it with smaller grades or mixing high quality strong tea. Similarly, to keep or enhance its flavour, either use big or bigger size of granules or go for high cost high flavour tea. In the beginning of this article, we mentioned that almost all packet tea makers use 4/5 types of tea. Please check your home tea packet. You will find 4/5 types of tea in that. Some are bigger, some are medium, some are small some are powdery, some are black and some are brown. Even if you open same tea brand of different production months, very good possibility is there that sizes of tea granules in 2 packets are absolutely different. You may even find that there are subtle or in worse case differences of taste in two production months. From this above points, we will note down how to blend tea with zero mistake. As we have mentioned, bigger granules are used for flavour and smaller granule are for liquor. So use BPs, BOPL, BOP or BOPsm for flavour. So this may be used more in quantity, may be 20%. Bopsm contains flavour and liquor. So that may be used more in quantity. In fact, we consider BOPsm and BP as premium grades and generally these two grades fetch more price than other grades. Bp may be put 50 / 60% or more in a tea blend. OF grade contains more liquor than flavour. 20 / 30% OF in a blend will give you very strong liquor. PD and DUST similarly contain much more liquor and low to very low flavour. 10% PD is generally sufficient for any normal blend. It will make your tea very quickly in comparison to bigger sizes like BOP or BOPsm. Dust is powdery in size. It has a tendency to come down though strainer. It makes very quick and strong tea. It is mostly used to make tea bags. We suggest use 2 /3% or less in a standard blend of tea. To cut down cost and to maintain similar standard throughout the year, you may use both primary and secondary of all these grades. Tea gardens generally make BETTER tea from April to May. Best tea during June to August. Again Better tea from September - November (Except during Puja Flush). GOOD tea in DECEMBER and MARCH. Mid January to Mid March generally production remains closed in eastern Indian tea gardens. Depending on this callender you may increase or decrease quantity of primary or secondary. For example During JUNE to AUGUST, when tea is of BEST quality, you may increase secondary and cut down primary. That way you can maintain a standard quality and at low price. When you actually blend tea, always make sure that colour of all the grades are as far as possible, similar, if not same. When you mix secondary with primary then there is a very good chance that there will be a variation of colour. Better remain careful when you buy tea. Many tea gardens in West Bengal forcefully make their tea appear blackish at the cost of its Strength. That type of tea is low priced and good for mixing or blending with good quality tea. To find most prefered blend for your area, try to copy your local popular brands' blending. Dont worry, if you can not copy it 100%, Because it can not be done. Neither original blender can make it also. First you blend it in small quantity, may be a blend of 20 grams. Taste it, if you like it, your job is done. If you do not like it or you want to improve it further, just change the grades' ratio. May be use more BOPsm and less PD or vice versa or any other combination to arrive at your best blend. Once you are satisfied, your blend is ready. One reminder. Everytime you buy tea, quality will be different every time, even if you buy it from same gardens. Tea Tasting, CTC Tea

Tea tasting is a very important part for starting and running a tea business-- successfully. Apparently, its not an easy task. A tea taster can differentiate over 600 different taste of tea. Full fledged academic courses are there to learn tea tasting. It varies from 45 days to 1 year.
It will definitely be an advantage, if you are a qualified tea taster. You will be able to understand tea quality and its reasonable price immediately.
But most probably, tea tasting course is not available in your city, or you may not have time to pursue the course.
Do not break down, every person is a tea taster. It is always better to do a course, but if you can not, just follow these guidelines to taste tea.
If yo want to follow tea tasting technique, please arrange these small equipments--10 Tea testers mugs 100 ML size with lead, 10 Tea Bowls, 10 small tea box, 1 Tea Spoon, 2000 watt Electric cattle 1 or 2 litre size, A sand watch or electronic stop watch, a electronic scale 20 gram capacity. First of all
Put water in electric heater and boil the water.
measure each type of tea separately 2 gram each from the tea box with the electronic scale. Put the measured tea in each cup, keep tea box aligned parrallel to the cup, so that you can recognise it.
Put 2 gram tea to the tester cup then fill boiled water in the cup upto the brink, put the lead on and wait for 5 minutes for tea steeping using electronic watch.
Now pour the content of cups to tea bowls and align it to the cups and tea box. But Do not pour the tea leaves on the bowls. Put the leaves on lid of the cup, so that you can check it visually.
Now its time for actual tasting.
Take the first bowl in your hand, sip a good mouthful of tea, start rolling on your tounge. Let your taste bud feel the taste. If you are not sure in the first sip, threw it out in a basket and take another sip.
When you are satisfied, that its taste is clear to you, check the cup for infusion, its colour, smell.
Write it down in a piece of paper------ 1. What is the colour of tea and infused leaf ? Is it bright or dull colour ? Or is there any greenish taint at side part of cup ?
2. How does the tea taste ?
3. How does it smell ?
4. Does to smell of any non tea item, even a faint smell ?
Some important things you must remember here---- A. Price of tea must not influence your judgement.
B. You are not a professional Tea Taster, You are tasting tea for selecting tea for your business. So find out the taste, which are prefered by your buyers. You may or may not require very high quality tea.
You may improvise the equipments with your home cups, water heater, wrist watch etc but 2 gram tea and 5 minutes steeping time must be maintained. You may also mix milk to find out the look of final product.

2. Tea was naturally growing in Assam of India and China. Chinese recorded drinking tea 2000 years ago. No record found of first use of tea in India. 8. Quantity plucked is directly related to earning of the tea picker, to maximise tea leaf quantity, the workers use small knives to pluck more leaf resulting in loss of quality and loss of subsequent leaf next plucking round.
9. It is said that tea is made in the plantation not in the factory. Because tea factory can not improve upon quality of tea if green leaf is not good. But surely factory can worsen it by under withering or may be over drying or by so many other mistakes in the process.

Tea Garden Managers are surely tough people. With their shorts, their big mustache and sun burnt skin, less talk, lesser smile, make them look tougher. But they are human beings, they have also got their funny bones.

Never drink Indian tea. Its awful, it harms you more than whisky.
Just last Saturday, I went to club in the evening, had a few pegs of my favourit whisky. Since next day was Sunday and all my friends were there with me, I had a few more glasses of whisky and returned to home around 4 AM. Being a gentleman, I knew my wife is sleeping, so as far as possible, silently, I entered my drawing room.
Just after I put on the light, I found that my beloved wife is sitting on a chair and drinking Indian tea.

I knew since I had had so many glasses of whisky, so I must keep cool and hence did not reply to my beloved wife.
That made her angrier and threw the tea cup at me. Being a chivalrous man, I did not duck it. Some how that encouraged her and she started throwing tea spoon, sugar container, tea container everything at me.
I kept my silence and as a mark my gentle attitude,I lay on the floor. In the afternoon, I got up from floor with pains and aches, met my beloved wife and wished her a good day. She was having her afternoon tea. she neither looked at me nor returned my wish, just went on sipping her tea.
I strictly and very sincerely suggest, never drink tea, because it makes you abnormal, nonsense and cruel. That night, I had so many glasses of whisky, still I did not shout back to her, even I slept on the floor so that my beloved wife is not disturbed. My vote will always be against Indian tea. A British Planters came back from his England after completing his furlough. This Planter brought a bottle of Sherry with him to enjoy it with his friends. He proudly displayed it on the fireplace of his drawing room. Very soon, he noticed that some one was emptying his sherry every day. I have worked in tea gardens for last 26 years. Sometime in a good garden and sometime in not so good gardens.
Every year, we produced different qualities of tea in different gardens. In my 26 year of working life, production quantity varied from 3.5 lakh kg to 15 lakh kg. Personally, I was always in favour of making good quality tea. That is plucking soft 2 and half leaf, keeping it cool, undamaged, proper withering, proper cutting, right oxidization and optimum drying.
But, its not final, what a garden Manager decides, final is what company decides.
If garden manager wants to make better tea, he has to put extra effort, he has work harder, he has to spend more, he has to give all dues to the employees. But, though Garden Manager is the top man in a tea garden but he is an employee of the garden not the owner. He has to follow policy of the employer.
If company wants good quality tea without spending money, garden manager has to try. If company wants poor quality tea, garden manager has to attain that. Most of the time, personal preference of the garden manager is unimportant.
When I was working in the garden, I always wondered why some companys make average or low quality tea, every year. I used to deduce, these employers not intelligent, so they do not want to make good tea, hence can not get good price.
Simple, is not it ! No its not.. I understood these when I was given charge of selling tea.
Entire India has got different preferences for different qualities of tea. Even every town is overwhelmingly prefer different qualities of tea.
Our conception of good quality is based on simple soft leaf manufacturing and making so called strong tea.
But in practice, or in buyers' mind, meaning of strong tea in many cases quite different. It may even be 180 degree opposite.
Taste of tea is an acquired taste, if a buyer is taking so called low quality tea for a considerable time, that tea becomes his preferred and best quality.
In my marketing life, sometime buyers send their preferred type of tea sample, so that we can copy it for them.
I was nearly fainted when a buyer send a stale tea sample, saying that is the best quality and most popular brand in their locality.
Since, we produce tea, we do not keep any old, damaged and odorous tea to maintain our reputation. So we politely refused that buyer.s do not prefer high quality tea. Secondly, tea do not require to be made from soft leaf to become popular with the buyers.
More buyers like average quality tea then high quality costly tea.
I remember a famous comment by a recent past Chief Minister of India state. That respected Chief Minister after having a cup of Darjeeling tea which was sold at auction at Rs 6000 per kg ( about 20 years ago) said to eager reporters that he could not understand the difference between his everyday normal tea and this Rs 6000 kg tea.
A tea company being an employer of 1000 of employees, knows what sells better, what will fetch sufficient money to run its tea garden. So they it wants tea which is preferred by mass people.
As I said earlier, we acquire taste of tea. it does not come with our birth. Sweet, sour, bitter etc are in part of our taste. After we start drinking tea, over the time, we acquire the taste of tea. We start liking that particular taste, which we dink everyday. Our taste makes an average of all the different qualities of tea we take and make our quality standard. Then our taste buds judge the tea on basis of this average quality standard that we had formed. Tea, better than that standard is good tea and below that standard is poor tea. But again too high quality tea which is far above than our quality standard are automatically rejected by our taste buds. Same thing happens when tea is low quality than our standard quality.
So, here point is, when you go to buy tea for your business purpose or for personal consumption, DO NOT go for so called best quality or high priced tea, rather look for tea which is familiar to you price wise and your buyerss taste standard wise. Finally, your buyer will continuously pay for your tea if they feel that your tea quality is is their standard.
You are not required, neither desired to be an expert tea tester. You are a tea businessman, you are needed to satisfy your clientele. Just find out what is most popular types of tea in your locality. Try to find out that quality tea matching with local price. It does not matter whether that quality is stale or brown colour or full of fiber.
Just match it as far as possible, even up to 70% and you are a successful tea businessman.

Raw tea is not testy but it gives you instant energy.
If you mix sufficient sugar and milk with tea, it becomes tasty as well as energetic.
Indian tea stalls allow tea drinkers to sit under their roof for hours if tea taking is continuous.
Cigarette becomes testier after a cup of tea. ( Please remember tea heals but Cigarette kills. )
Tea is good drink to pass time. Even writing on tea is productive utilization of time.

Tea business easier than other businesses. You can start it with smaller or large capital.
A new tea businessman has to decide, how much tea does he require to start his tea venture?
How much he has to invest ?
How much tea stock has to be kept in his hand?
This calculation is very simple. 
A person average takes 4 cups of tea that is 10 grams of tea granules.
If your city or your targeted market has got 10 lakhs population, just multiply 10 grams x 1000000 = 10000 kg
This is daily consumption not monthly.
Now remember, you are not introducing tea in your city, already big and small sellers are selling tea and making profit.
So, you make your target, say you will cover 2% market in the first month, 4% in second month, 5% in third month and so on.
These mean, in your first month, you will sell 200 kg daily and 6000 kg monthly, ( Sunday included, because all of us drink tea on Sunday, even drink more cups of tea).
Now think about your stock in hand, minimum quantity required to be kept.
Tea brands are somewhat like Cigarette brands but not harmful like cigarettes.
If you smoke Wills, you will buy Wills every time, till it is conveniently available in your locality. May be one or two days you will step out of your area to look for favorite poison. But if it is unavailable conveniently and easily, you will very soon opt for a more readily available brand.
Your tea buyers behave almost similarly. If they like your tea, they will go on taking it till it is conveniently available. The day it is not easily available, they wont wait for your tea to arrive but opt for next easily available brand.
So you must have at least one lot in your hand to replenish the shops immediately before their stock is over.
Third point you need to consider that how much time tea consignment takes to reach from its originating source. If it is two weeks, you must have stock of at least 2 weeks if not 3 weeks stock.
Other than these investments, you require to decide about your office expenditure and your sales personnel expenses.
These are very widely varies from place to place. It is best left to your discretion.

Tea business is easy, popular and you can start it any where.
Tea is popular all over India, you can start selling tea at main market or at a bye lane. you will get customer everywhere.

Here are basic steps to start a tea business. 

If you have decided to start your business alone then take trade licence in your name or in the name of your establishment from Municipal Authority.

For partnership business, you require to submit Partnership deed for getting trade license or making bank account.

You will require to submit address proof, id proof, photo etc along with the trade license application form and a small fee.

Generally, Municipal Authority will issue the trade license happily within 7 days.

Next, you require to make State Sales tax registration, Central Sales Tax registration and a Current account.

State sale tax registration is for doing business within your State and Central Sale Tax Registration is for doing business all over India.

Since tea is a very popular drinks and suppliers/growers are situated in 2 and half corners of India, I suggest register for Central Tax also. Who knows, may be you will buy tea from Kangra Valley and sell in Assam.

Sale tax registration usually takes seven to ten days. They also charge a fee of around Rs 10000 depending on your expected turnover.

Now a days government becomes happy, when you start a business.

Opening a Bank account will take 2 days. So within 15 days of applying for trade license, you are ready to start your tea business. Now utilise this 15 days to make further plans and enquiries.

Plan no 1- what type of tea you want to sell?--- CTC, Orthodox, Green Tea, Handmade Tea or keep all the products and also concoction like Masala Tea, Bamboo Tea, Herbal Tea ?

Plan no 2- Where from you are going to buy your tea? --- As usual, it is better to buy the product from source. So find out a supplier who produces tea like

Plan no 3- Tea price starts from Rs 70 to may be more than Rs 7000/- What is your preference? If you are in a big city you can try to sell all qualities and all price ranges. But in a small city, low to medium range will be more popular than high end tea.

Plan no 4- Loose tea or Packet Tea ? --- You can buy tea in bulk and make 500 gram, 1 kg pack in transparent polypack and sell it. If it is without any label, it will attract any additional tax. This will maintain and enhance its aroma, shelf life and finally once your shop becomes popular, you introduce your own brand.

When you have taken all these decisions, you are fully prepared to launch tea business. Be sure, after a year, you will relish the decision of starting tea business.

Tea was one of many wildly growing plants in Assam. Only Singpo of Khamti tribes used drink tea for may be thousands of year. 
Major Bruce an officer of East India company is first European noticed tea in Assam.

Profits in a tea business

We are often asked by new businessman or dreaming would be businessman that if they buy our tea, how much profit they can make.
This question comes to us in different shape, size and colour. 
We will try to answer it here.
Answer is very simple. 
First find out the most popular retail tea price in your city. 
From this retail price you deduct Rs 50/-. you have arrived at wholesale price. 
You know our factory price. Now add transportation expenses from our Assam factory to your city and cst 2 to 5%.
Transportation cost, generally and most of the cases, will be less than Rs 15/- and CST at most Rs 7.50/-.
So your final price is around or less than Rs 172/- 
Compare this with the wholesale price of most popular tea in your city. 
Now you have found out your gross possible profit.
Subtract your office expenditure including  employees salary, if any, from this.
So now you have arrived at your projected profit.
Now consider one important point.

Everyone knows Assam ctc tea drinking has got 100s of health benefit. If you dont know, just search google. You will get About 28,200 results (0.55 seconds).
Now, I have not checked all those sites neither I know, who has researched and arrived at this conclusion that tea has got health benefits.

When I try to find out those benefits, I find Indian Tea helps to reduce some big diseases like Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, Cancers and 100s of other diseases.
But, I have not found the source of such claims. There should be some Authority, who is corroborating these healing powers of tea. I mean some allopathic research confirmations. May be there are, but I have not checked for those sites.

From my personal experience, we know a few basic benefits of tea and at least those are sufficient for continuing drinking tea.

Let me list those.

Now a days tea is the cheapest drinks available. Water has become costly now. One bottle of water is at least Rs 10,whereas one glass of tea is Rs 5 or less than it.

A cup of tea, undoubtedly gives you energy. If you have walked for kilometers, you are tired, but take a cup of tea, it will give you energy to go for another few kilometers. It simply refreshes you.

Exam time, you require to finish course by continuing study throughout the night but getting sleepy. Assam CTC tea is best option for you to keep up throughout the night.

I have heard so many good things about tea. Like me everyone has heard it, particularly in recent years. 
I after hearing so much, I was impressed and decided to take tea regularly. ( I used to drink tea rarely.) To save and improve my health, cut down my weight which is increasing with the increase in age., to look fresh, improve my skin and to all other "unlimited" benefits of taking tea.
i requested my friend in to give a packet of tea. 
He happily gave 1 kg packet of tea, nicely packed with a hard bill of Rs 250/-
I thought such a big company and my friend is the owner, so at least he would give a free pack ! But he is a businessman not a friend man when it comes to tea.
So with a forced smile, I accepted the packet, paid the messenger and asked my better half(she drinks tea regularly) make 2 cups of tea for us.
She happily obliged. We drank tea together. She was very enthusiastic, enjoyed her cup of tea with intermittent remarks requires little tea leaf to make a cup of tea, nice tea, I like it, Good tea after long time etc etc.
I heard all comments, I could not understand the taste, neither its color, aroma anything.
However, those were not important for me. It was health, looking younger etc what is more important for me. 
So from morning to evening, I started taking 4/5 big cups of tea every day.
This, I am still continuing after 2 months. Because still, we could not finish half the packet.
My better half is very impressed.

Only problem is these portals sell their buy leads to their members. Members in turn recover it from their buyers secretly.

Online tea buying guide.

Personally, being a tea garden man, I drink lot of tea. When I was in garden, tea was free, so we never bothered about purchase price. Ofcourse, we were interested about what price, as Garden Manager,we were getting. After retirement and when our tea stock finished, we started buying it from our local market. All big names of packet market with high price, but quality was poor. Every week, we were buying new tea packets of 100 grams, loose tea 100 grams. So that with this trial, wecan stumble upon the right tea. We are also taking advice of our neighbours. None of them are tea prople. So unintentionaly, they were suggesting low quality tea or secondary tea. We do not blame them, because they had never taken good tea. So they are liking 2nd grade or 3rdgrade tea. Becoming frustrated with local packet tea and loose tea market, we turned our attention to online tea market. We started with Amazon then Flipkart then Snapdeal etc and finally Till now this is our final choice. First time we bought online tea from ecommerce site, we found that price was reasonable or rather cheap, It was Rs 260 plus courier charges another Rs 75. Nicely packed. On the ecommerce site, everything looked nice. Our first shopping from ecommerce site. We were nervously waiting for our tea pack to arrive. Within 3 days courier service man knocked our door, handed over the packet, took the money and signature and left. We were also wanted to hurry up, immediately, we opened the pack. IT WAS A 100 GRAM PACKET, not a 1 kg pack. We paid more than Rs 350 for 100 packet !! Though tea was good but with Rs 3500 Rs a kg made its good taste and strong liquer a bitter untasty liquer. Next time, we were careful, opted for a new ecommerce site, checked the product throughly, then put order for 250 grams at price of Rs 600 per kg. Tea was acceptable and affordable, so we continued this online site for next 2 months. By this time, we have become 2 experts on all pros and cons of online tea market. We knew how many tea sellers are their in flip kart or amazon and prices they charge. Every thing we knew by our heart. Finally, we came across and now our serch is over. We get our favorit Assam tea at very reasonable price. Because this company does not buy tea from other gardens and sell it online. They have got their own tea gardens at Assam and selling tea directly to all over India. So naturally giving better quality tea and lower price. We advise Assam Tea Sellers, do not become too greedy, maintain what you are doing now, sow in good services, you will reap better result.

Why People loves tea !!??

I am personally not very fond of tea. Be it Assam tea or world famous Darjeeling tea. I take 2/3 cups of tea a day. Even if I don't drink tea at all does not matter. Tea is like any other drink for me. But for my family members and guest, I buy tea. Generally from online stores like, or delivers directly from their factory so price is cheaper and my guests and family members say it is better than others. But, I can not differentiate. Tea is not tasty, if you do not use milk and sugar. I always wonder what and why people are so fond of tea. I have seen 100s and 1000s of tea websites, tea forums, many not profit making voluntary sites on tea. in our childhood, tea was only drunk by elderly people and milk was for children. We were always warned against drinking tea. Now it is exactly opposite. Everyone says tea has got medicinal value. But I think it has got medicinal value only when you have got dysentery or you do not want to sleep. Some people has jumped one step ahead. They started Herbal Tea, Bamboo Tea and what not. All our life, we knew tea is made from tea tree or tea bush without mixing anything, its automatically herbal. Tea is made from camellia sinensis. {Hope my spelling is correct.} Not from bamboo {I don't know bamboo's latin name.} So how can one call bamboo leaf juices as tea ? So confusing and so popular !!

Indian tea gardens are situated far distant from the city area, This is normal, because such a vast area of land is required to start a tea garden. But this distances of a few kilometers changes entire life style that we usually find in a city or in a town or in a village. First abnormal thing about Indian Tea Garden is that it does not follow Indian Standard time. They have got their own timings, which one hour ahead of Indian Standard Time. Just imagine, from Indian President to lowest rank of Indian follow one set of timing and Indian Tea Gardens follow another set of timings. Only when they come out of the garden, they follow IST.
Inside a Tea Garden Now you are near the tea factory. Its the biggest building inside the garden, at least 2000 square feet or more, You hear the sound of machineries and find mind cheering smell of tea. Factory is big but you find that roof of the factory was not painted in last 50 years or may be more. Walls were not white washed for may be last 5 years or more. People are improperly dressed for factory operations. Some are wearing loose fitting dresses which become dangerous for in front of machineries. You suddenly notice a small office type house nearby. This house has also got same problems. Roof unpainted for years, walls unpainted again for years. Inside the thinly lighted office, you find number of big size and heavy chairs and tables in staff room. Almost equal size room for garden manager. That is the the best room with large windows, doors, chairs and table. But again room is not painted. Though room has got chairs but nobody seen to sit in those chairs if the manager specifically orders one.

Tea Garden Hospitality.
Since, you have come from outside, Manager wearing a tee shirt, sorts and sports shoes might like to invite you for a cup of tea or lunch cum hard drinks session. Tea garden\'s hospitality is famous. You are also bit tired, so you go along with the manager to his bungalow. Surprise, surprise, you find small good, clean with nice flower garden bungalows before you reach the Manager\'s bungalow. On your way, you find that these are Assistant Mangers bungalow. May be manager, if it is a plantation off day, might invite Assistant Manager to give you company.
At Garden Manager\'s Bungalow.
Now you find garden Manager\'s bungalow. A palatial house with thick walls and spacious lawn with nicely cared flower garden or gardens. A nice looking lady arrives followed by a servant carrying tea. You understand from her appearance that she is Mrs Garden Manager. Every one jumps up from the chair except the husband. Manager introduces her to you. She request you and the Assistant Manager to sit down. She pours tea in the cups and offer it with snacks. You find the lady is a real lady and Manager is also a gentleman. You already have got impression that the Manager is a forceful man. By this time, jeep which brought you and others in the bungalow has been driven to the garage by the driver. But he is waiting in the back side of the bungalow for next order of the manager. You are having tea with them and manager and his better half are talking to you vigorously. Assistant Manager is bit reticent but whenever needed, he is also joining the conversation. You have an impression that the they are genuinely pleased to meet you. You are wondering what quality I have got that made them so pleased to meet me.
This is Not the conclusion. Tea garden life, its systems always fascinates me. So this is definitely not the conclusion. I will write more on my next post.



Online Tea selling business.

Online Tea selling has become a good business now. Open any Online website, you will find many Tea Listings. You will get Assam Tea, Darjeeling Tea, South Indian Tea, Kangra Valley Tea, Dooars Tea, all are being sold online by e commerce companies and B to B Portals.
Generally tea quality is not bad but cost is very high. Company displaying a tea packet and asking for Rs 300. As a consumer, you happily order Assam or Darjeeling tea at Rs 300, but after the product is delivered, you find the the tea packet contains only 100 to, if you are lucky, 500 grams. That mean, tea you bought costs you Rs 600 to Rs 3000 per kg. Where as, you will get very good Assam loose tea at Rs 300 per kg. Now lets find out why these company's charges 2 to 10 times more than normal price. First reason most of these online sellers, do not have any factory, they buy it from Assam Tea Wholesalers and sell it online with their own name. 2ndly, All online e commerce companies charges very high rate. In 2014,we sold some tea through a popular e commerce company in India. They were charging Rs 30 per kg tea sold. Now if you are selling your product at Rs 250 per kg, it becomes Rs 280 per kg. This commission is based on sale price of your product. So higher the sale price, higher is the commission. 3rdly,all business to business portals are charging at least Rs 250 to to Rs 500 per sale leads. More the sale leads, less per sale lead payments. So when you pay these portal for sales lead, it is natural that you will add these costs to your sale price. If you are paid members of 3 business to business portal and paid Rs 5000 to Rs 15000 for sale leads, you will try to recover your investment as much as possible from the buyers of your product. Hence, high cost of your tea. This high price of tea is prohibiting many customers to go for better quality tea. This and other similar sites are expected to cut the price. If this site can do, what it intends to do, online tea buying will be far cheaper.
